About This Journal

Since its launch in 1992, Canadian Military History has become one of the premier journals in its field. CMH is a peer-reviewed academic journal published bi-annually by the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada with editorial and financial support from the Canadian War Museum. Its purpose is to foster research, teaching and public discussion of historical and contemporary military and strategic issues.

The archival materials made publicly available through this web site remain under the copyright of their creators unless otherwise noted. These items have been made available with the permission of the copyright holders for the purposes of individual study and research. Any further usage requires the permission of the copyright holder.

We welcome the use of our open access resources for private study, teaching and research. Articles may be downloaded, uploaded to e-learning sites, printed and distributed, emailed or otherwise used for teaching, research and private study purposes. Aims & Scope

Canadian Military History accepts a wide variety of submissions covering diverse types of content, including research articles, first-person accounts, editorials and book reviews. Beyond purely historical research, CMH encourages multi-disciplinary perspectives in a historical context, ranging from sociology to political science to public policy.
