Abstract
In worship God comes to serve his people with his gifts. Worship, as God's service of us, is the source of faith. Worship is also the summit of faith as God lifts his people to himself, to the service of others, to a reconciliation with the natural world. Worship is thus our service of God in response to his initiative. Zion, the mountain of God, is the biblical symbol of the place from which God comes and to which we with all the nations are called to share the messianic banquet. The Easter Vigil is a liturgical dramatization of the interchange between God and us, the passage from death to life, a renewal of the past and a promise of what is to come.
