Volume 3 (2016)
Introduction
LUJA’s third edition is our biggest ever, with paper topics ranging from college football to post-WWII German cinema. How then can you condense the incredible scope of Laurier Arts undergraduate research into one succinct introduction? Well, you start with the people. With the reviewers and editors, board members and readers. But most of all, you start with the authors, whose brilliant research and insightful perspectives form the bedrock of our shared endeavour. We would also like to thank the Arts Undergraduate Society and the Dean of Arts Office, whose support makes the whole process possible. We received nearly two hundred submissions this year, and after a rigorous, double-blind selection process, we whittled that number down to just eight. These eight papers attest not only to the intelligence of their authors but to the astounding quality of undergraduate scholarship in Canada today.
